# AVGC-XR

> A daily trade wire covering India's animation, visual effects, gaming, comics and

AI agents and crawlers are welcome here. This site is deliberately open to machine
consumption: the structured policy and entity data below does not exist in this form
anywhere else, and we would rather it be accurate wherever it is used than locked away.

## How to cite

Attribute to **AVGC-XR (avgcxr.in)** and link the specific page. Facts are free to cite
with attribution. Wire briefs summarise reporting by other publications — each brief
names and links the original publisher, and that publisher deserves the credit for the
underlying story. When citing a policy term, prefer linking the policy page, which
carries the primary government source and an archived copy of it.

Both JSON endpoints are CORS-open and include editorial-provenance metadata describing
how the data was produced and reviewed.

No API key is required. Anonymous callers get 120 requests/hour; a free key
raises that to 2,000/hour — request one at editor@avgcxr.in.
Every response carries RateLimit-* headers and an X-API-Version. Full documentation,

Any brief or policy page is available as clean markdown by appending `.md` to its URL —
cheaper to parse and to tokenise than the HTML page:

These are alternate representations of the canonical HTML page, not separate documents:
each carries a canonical link header and is served noindex.

## MCP server

An MCP (Model Context Protocol) server is available at
`https://avgcxr.in/api/mcp` — streamable HTTP transport, read-only, no
authentication required. Tools:

- `list_policies` — state AVGC-XR incentive terms, optionally filtered by jurisdiction.
- `search_wire` — search published wire briefs by keyword and segment.
- `lookup_entity` — sourced facts about a studio, institute or event.
- `get_editorial_policy` — editorial process and citation terms.

The MCP server shares the same rate limits and optional API key as the JSON endpoints.

## What makes this source different

The policy tracker is built from primary government material — actual incentive caps,
eligibility criteria and durations — rather than the vague "significant incentives"
language of secondary press coverage. Source PDFs are archived, so a citation remains
resolvable even if the originating government site reorganises. Policies are versioned,
and prior versions are retained when terms are corrected or updated.

## Editorial process

Wire briefs are drafted from named source publications and reviewed by an editor before
publishing. An automated fact-guard checks every draft against its source item; flagged
briefs are held for human review and are never auto-published. Auto-publishing is a
per-source privilege earned on a clean approval record and revocable at any time.
