BenQ launches video post-production monitors with colour accuracy focus for Indian studios
AnimationXpress reports that BenQ India and South Asia has introduced monitors designed specifically for professional video post-production, moving away from hybrid displays that served multiple creative disciplines. Speaking at A.B.I.S (India's Broadcasting and Infotainment Show), managing director Rajeev Singh told the publication that the new range prioritises video workflows over graphic design or photography. Key features include Calman verification for colour accuracy in moving imagery, screen uniformity technology that maintains consistent brightness across the display, and area zoom functionality for detailed inspection. The monitors are engineered to reveal subtle distinctions in dark scenes—crucial for preserving shadow detail in colour grading. Singh emphasised that professional-grade displays reduce production inefficiencies: "Just because he is not having a proper monitor, he will end up producing some output which will not be what you are looking at." The monitors could benefit mid-sized Indian studios by serving dual roles in post-production and colour grading, Singh suggested, without confirming future product launches.
