Rajasthan's AVGC-XR Summit draws 5,000 creators as state launches heritage-focused digital initiatives
AnimationXpress reports that the Rajasthan AVGC-XR Summit 2026 convened more than 5,000 creators, students, studio founders, educators and policymakers in Jaipur on 28 October at the Rajasthan International Centre. Organised by Rising AVGC-XR & Media Association (Rama Rajasthan) with the state's Department of Information Technology & Communication, the summit themed the orange economy and brought together traditional puppetry with AI filmmaking. IICT Mumbai's Ashish Kulkarni received Rama's inaugural lifetime achievement award, recognising 35 years of contribution to India's creative sector. Three IP launches emerged: Kathputli: Toys & Tales of India (digitising Rajasthani puppetry), the Shift Festival (a multi-day creative event), and Cut.Stage (an AI filmmaking platform). The state's Atal Innovation Studio and Accelerator operates across Jaipur, Udaipur, Bikaner and Bharatpur under the 2024 AVGC-XR Policy. The next edition is scheduled for 16–17 October 2027 at the Birla Auditorium Complex in Jaipur.
