Rajasthan AVGC-XR Policy 2024 (2024–29)
Issued by the Department of Information Technology & Communication (DOIT&C), in force from launch on 4 December 2024 until 31 March 2029. Offers production grants across animation, VFX/AR/VR, game development and comics, plus additional financial incentives for networking and market access, administered under the state's existing iStart startup program framework.
Incentives & provisions
- Production grant — animation films
- 30% reimbursement of qualified expenditure, capped at ₹50 lakh per entity, for animation films of 60 minutes and above.
- Production grant — animated episodic series
- 30% reimbursement of qualified expenditure, capped at ₹50 lakh per entity, for animation cartoon series of 10 episodes and above.
- Production grant — VFX/AR/VR
- 30% reimbursement of qualified expenditure, capped at ₹50 lakh per entity per financial year.
- Production grant — mobile games
- Up to 20% reimbursement of qualified expenditure, capped at ₹1 crore per entity, disbursed as milestone-based reimbursement per government-notified guidelines.
- Production grant — console games
- Up to 20% reimbursement of qualified expenditure, capped at ₹1 crore per entity, disbursed as milestone-based reimbursement per government-notified guidelines.
- Production grant — comics
- 25% reimbursement of qualified expenditure, capped at ₹15 lakh within a financial year.
- Rajasthan-landscape production incentive
- Higher benefits given for media projects incorporating Rajasthan's landscape.
- Approval thresholds
- Departmental Nodal Level Committee can approve proposals up to ₹50 lakh–₹1 crore on a case-to-case basis; the policy committee approves proposals above ₹1 crore.
