Umang Bedi launches Spark Station, AI-powered film studio platform, in Mumbai

AnimationXpress reports that Umang Bedi unveiled Spark Station at Mumbai's Grand Hyatt on Wednesday evening, an AI creative platform developed in partnership with Google Cloud. The integrated studio condenses filmmaking into a single platform, enabling creators to develop ideas, design characters, generate scenes, edit, add music and voice, and produce comics—all end-to-end.

The system includes budget estimation tools and requires no complex prompts, using drop-down menus instead. Spark Station handles feature films, series, shorts, microdramas and video content at reduced costs compared to rival platforms. Pricing ranges from US$9 monthly for basic access to US$44 for the pro version.

The launch event drew major Indian film and television figures including directors Rajkumar Hirani and Shakun Batra, and former Applause Entertainment head Sameer Nair. According to Bedi, "AI is just an additional tool" rather than a replacement for human creativity, addressing industry concerns about artificial intelligence in entertainment.
