Panasonic showcases AI cameras and remote production at India's Broadcasting and Infotainment Show

AnimationXpress reports that Panasonic India demonstrated remote production technology at A.B.I.S, featuring AI-powered cameras, box cameras and the Kairos live video production platform. Deputy general manager Omkar Talwar outlined how the systems reduce crew travel and on-site setup needs.

AI-based camera controls track subjects and maintain framing without requiring an operator. Kairos generates multiple aspect-ratio outputs from a single setup, consolidating OTT and broadcast production into one environment. Remote production could cut typical 20-person crews to five on location, with remaining teams operating from remote facilities.

Panasonic is supporting multiple IP-based formats—ST 2110, NDI, SRT and JPEG—allowing broadcasters to choose based on bandwidth and infrastructure. Talwar stressed AI complements rather than replaces creative workflows, enabling more sustainable and efficient production practices while maintaining quality standards.
